What to watch on Disney + this June

What to watch on Disney + this June

June is an exciting month for many reasons. It’s the start of summer, the light nights are here and a whole new treasure cove of TV series, movies and originals for you to explore on Disney +.

Last week, Disney posted on their socials launching the ‘Summer of Disney + - Your passport to Summer Streaming’. The post included a list of new shows and movies that are launching on the platform over the next few months. The announcement got us so excited that we wanted to share with you what you can expect to find on the streaming service this summer!

Here is what’s coming to Disney + this month and beyond.

Cruella

With lockdown restrictions easing here in the UK, on May 28th the new live action movie got the release it deserved and premiered in cinemas nationwide. If a trip to the cinema just isn’t on the cards for you at the moment, don’t worry! Cruella is also available to watch on Disney + with Premier Access. To watch the movie on the streaming service, it will cost you a fee of £19.99.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers

If you’ve been following the new original series on Disney +, then you may have already watched the season finale of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers. If you are yet to watch the series, all 10 episodes are now available to watch. Don’t worry we won’t spoil the ending for you!

Raya and the Last Dragon

From June 4th (so last Friday), you can now stream Raya and the Last Dragon without having to pay premium access! Prior to this, to watch the latest movie release from Disney, there was a fee to watch the movie exclusively from the streaming service. As Raya and the Last Dragon was initially set for release in cinemas, Disney + launched the new movie on Disney + so people could still watch the movie on the original release date.

Loki

Marvel Studios took a month off in May, but is now back with the release of Loki on June 9th - which is tomorrow!!! This is something we have been waiting for, for what feels like forever. With WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier being a huge success, it’s looking like Loki could follow in their footsteps. The new series takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame and sees the God of Mischief (Tom Hiddleston) leap through timelines as he attempts to save himself from being wiped from reality altogether.

Episode 1 will be available to stream on Wednesday 9th June.

Luca

And if you’re thinking, surely there can’t be anymore new releases, well you’re wrong! We are also being treated to Pixar’s new movie Luca on June 18th. Set in a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera, Disney and Pixar’s original feature film Luca is a coming-of-age story about a young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. This is the third Disney Pixar movie to debut on Disney + for no additional charge, following Onward and Soul.

Luca will be available to watch for every user with a Disney + subscription on June 18th.

Oh, and we’re getting four more episodes of Star Wars: The Bad Batch and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

It’s looking like there may never be a slow month for Disney + again.

Coming soon to Disney + in July

Jungle Cruise - July 30th

Board a thrill-ride down the Amazon with wisecracking skipper Frank and researcher Dr.Lily. This star studded movie stars Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Emily Blunt and the hilarious Jack Whitehall. We’ve been excited to watch this movie ever since we watched the trailer and we can’t wait to watch Jack Whitehall star alongside The Rock - what a combo!

You can watch Jungle Cruise with Premier Access at the same time it’s in cinemas and before it’s available to all Disney + subscribers at a later date.

Jungle Cruise is available to stream with Premier Access on July 30th for £19.99.
