Our Summer favourites! ☀️

The weather has been somewhat questionable throughout the month of August and it seems that the 2 week heatwave we were promised never decided to show up but nevertheless, the summer of 2021 has been one to remember!

With no more restrictions, staycations and families being able to spend time together again, we have enjoyed the summer of 2021 despite not being able to go on a hot holiday!

To celebrate the summer of 2021, we wanted to highlight some of our favourite moments, releases and products of the summer!

The return of festivals! 

Last year,Covid-19 wiped out the UK’s summer festival season. Only a handful of shows were able to take place and most of them were streamed online, in car parks or socially distanced. 

Fast forward to 2021 and we were optimistic about festivals happening again! Events that were scheduled for the early summer like Glastonbury were cancelled with several others following suit. A lot of festivals/ events were moved to later dates in the summer but with the government’s decision to delay the easing of lockdown restrictions until 19th July, a lot of festivals were forced to shut their doors for another year. 

However, a lot of festivals were still okay to go ahead! Including...

Boardmasters, Creamfields, Latitude, Parklife, Reading & Leeds, Slam Dunk, Standon Calling and many more!

Did you attend a festival this summer?

Euros 2021

Football fan or not, you’d be lying if you say you did not get emotionally invested with the Euros 2020. 

Watching England reach the final at Wembley was a sight to see that will go down in football history. 

As upsetting as it was to see England lose, for the whole 90 minutes + extra time + penalties we found ourselves sitting on the edge of our seats.

We already can't wait for the World Cup next year!

Olivia Rodrigo

I think it's safe to say that 2021 is the year of Olivia Rodrigo, so it stands to reason that it’s the summer of Olivia Rodrigo, too! If you still don’t know who Olivia Rodrigo is then where have you been?! At the young age of just 17, she has been dominating the charts with her tracks ‘Drivers License’ and ‘good 4 u’.  Whether you have listened to her or not, we’re pretty sure that you will be hearing her name a lot more throughout the rest of 2021 and beyond. 

We can’t write about our summer highlights without talking about movies can we? With the reopening of cinemas back in May, one of our highlights had to be heading back to the cinema for the first time in 18 months, tucking into some popcorn and a Tango ice blast and sinking into a cinema seat to watch the latest movie releases. From Marvel phase 4 movies to animation sequels, here are just a few of the movies that premiered in the cinemas this summer:
