World Book Day is coming...📚

And just like that it's nearly time for World Book Day 2022!

This year, World Book Day takes place on Thursday 3rd March and 2022 is a special year as World Book Day is celebrating 25 years!

World Book Day changes lives through a love of books and shared reading. The purpose of World Book Day is to promote reading for pleasure, offering every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own.

World Book Day was created by UNESCO on the 23rd of April 1995 as a worldwide celebration of books and reading and is marked in over 100 countries around the globe!

Fun fact: World Book Day is always held on the first Thursday in March!

The first World Book Day in the UK took place in 1997 to encourage young people to discover the pleasure of reading. With a continued commitment to promote reading for pleasure and offer every child a book of their own, the charity has a particular focus on reaching children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

25 years later, children of all ages are still coming together to share the joy of reading for pleasure and it's so lovely to see that the love of reading is still so popular all around the world.

We absolutely love the annual celebration of authors, illustrators, books and the joy of reading!

Spending just 10 minutes a day reading with your children can really make a huge different in their lives.
