TV Shows that feel like Autumn! 🍂

The weather is getting chillier and the nights are drawing in. Hello, Autumn!

It's the perfect season to revisit the Harry Potter and Twilight movies right? Of course, they are the obvious choice but we're here to chat about TV shows.

Whether you're in the mood for nostalgic classics, thrilling adventures or something a bit more supernatural, these shows will keep you entertained and snug during those chilly evenings.

Picture this: cosying up on the sofa with a warm blanket and a hot drink of your choice, ready to binge-watch your new favourite TV show.

From unlikely friendships and love triangles to spine-tingling mysteries, we’ve rounded up the best shows that capture the magic of the season.

Charmed

Charmed follows three sisters who, after the tragic death of their mother, discover they are powerful witches. Over the course of eight seasons, viewers follow the Halliwell sisters - Prue, Piper, and Phoebe as they juggle their newfound magical powers with their everyday lives in modern-day San Francisco.

Filled with lots of spell-casting, potion-making, and supernatural showdowns, Charmed definitely takes you a magical journey! The series explores sisterhood, sacrifice, and the strength of family bonds, leaving you with that cosy feeling side - exactly the vibe we want this autumn!

Once Upon a Time

From its misty forests, charming small-town streets, and the sprinkle of fairy tale magic, Storybrooke is the perfect place to transport yourself to this autumn.

Once Upon a TIme reimagines classic fairy tale characters and stories, blending them with the real world in the quaint town of Storybrooke, Maine. With characters like the Evil Queen, Rumplestiltskin, and Captain Hook, the show mixes beloved fairy tales with fresh twists and unexpected backstories.

With its sense of adventure and themes of love, redemption, and hope, Once Upon a Time creates a warm, nostalgic feeling that perfectly captures the spirit of the season. It’s like stepping into a storybook where anything is possible - the perfect watch for this time of year.

The Vampire Diaries

Hello, brother! This autumn, instead of grabbing the usual pumpkin spiced latte, why not sink your teeth into something a little more…dramatic? Set in the picturesque small town of Mystic Falls, The Vampire Diaries looks like it was plucked straight from the pages of an autumn magazine - complete with changing leaves, old historic homes, and just the right touch of foggy mystery.

While the show is famously known for its intense love triangle and supernatural twists, it’s also filled with the kind of warmth and familiarity that makes you want to curl up under a blanket.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

While the show takes place in the fictional town of Sunnydale, California, the gloomy lighting and supernatural adventures make this ‘90s cult classic a perfect choice to add to your October watchlist.

In case you didn’t know, Buffy the Vampire Slayer follows Sarah Michelle Gellar in her breakout role as Buffy, as she tackles evil forces and high school drama. From its gothic atmosphere and supernatural themes to the ‘90s and ‘00s nostalgia, the show features unforgettable characters, sharp wit, and the perfect blend of humour and horror that makes it a captivating watch, perfectly embodying the spirit of autumn!

Wednesday

If you’re in the mood for something mysterious and spooky this autumn, Wednesday is the perfect show for you! Everyone’s favourite Addams (sorry, Morticia) is back and attending a school for goblins and ghouls, where she juggles the trials of teenage life while investigating a bizarre monster on the loose. Produced by the one and only, Tim Burton, this not too scary series is fitting for the Halloween season too.

Only Murders in the Building

Only Murders In The Building simply feels right this time of year. The series follows three unlikely friends who start a podcast to try and solve a murder that took place in their apartment building. This show comes with the perfect autumn-in-New York setting , with lots of great “fall” fashion, and a spooky murder mystery storyline. Plus, a new season has just been released on Disney+, making it an ideal watch for the autumn season.

Definitely a must watch this autumn!

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

If you loved Sabrina the Teenage Witch growing up, we guarantee you are going to enjoy this reimagined version of the ‘90s classic. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina dives into the origin story of Sabrina Spellman, a half-witch, half-mortal, as she navigates life as a typical teenager while battling the dark forces that threaten her town.

This supernatural horror series offers a much darker twist on the beloved original, set in the fictional town of Greendale. With its mysterious woods and witchcraft-enthused residents, the town feels like Halloween has come to life. Expect a thrilling mix of murder, demons, and devils - as much of the season even takes place in hell! While it might not be family-friendly, it’s definitely autumn-friendly, featuring plenty of cosy sweaters, scarves, tights, and coats!

Stranger Things

Now you’re probably thinking… How could watching supernatural monsters be cosy? Well, you’d be surprised! Stranger Things is a personal favourite of ours for those chillier months, with its coming-of-age plotlines, adolescent friendships, and ‘80s nostalgia. Aside from Season 3, which takes place in the summertime, the series is primarily set in autumn in the supernaturally cursed town of Hawkins, Indiana.

There’s something incredibly cosy about a time before iPhones and tablets, when kids simply rode their bikes around town, saving the world from creatures lurking in the Upside Down.

Gilmore Girls

It’s the show everyone thinks of when autumn rolls around! - perhaps the cosiest, most autumn show in existence! From Luke wearing a flannel no matter what the season to Rory’s Chilton uniform inspiring us to sharpen our #2 pencils. Gilmore Girls ticks all the boxes for the most autumnal show to watch this time of year.

And no town does autumn or should we say “fall” better than the fictional town of Stars Hollow. Over the years, Gilmore Girls has become a seasonal staple for many fans. The series follows mother-daughter/bestie duo Lorelai and Rory Gilmore as they navigate family, friendship, and romantic relationships. It’s charming, heartwarming, and easy to watch for hours and hours.

With 153 episodes over seven seasons to watch, you’ll be set for the rest of the year!

Gossip Girl

If Stars Hollow isn’t serving up enough drama for you, Manhattan’s elite will definitely do the trick. Gossip Girl follows a group of upper-crust New Yorkers navigating the trials and tribulations of being ultra-wealthy, ultra-privileged, and ultra-misunderstood - all while being anonymously blogged about.

Plus, there are also plenty of episodes that features NYC in all of its autumnal glory.
