If you've ever been to Walt Disney World in Florida then you will know that there are SO many great attractions across all four parks.
The selection of rides to choose from is incredible and Disney are continuing to add new rides! So there will be even more rides to choose from. Disney do like to spoil us don't they?!
The rides at Walt Disney World consist of everything from family-friendly rides for all of the family to enjoy to major thrill rides and experiences for the thrill seekers and rollercoaster enthusiasts.
When it comes to planning a trip to Walt Disney World, we understand that it can feel a little overwhelming at times as there is just so much to do and see!
With four theme parks and two water parks, each Disney park has its own unique set of rides and attractions for everyone to enjoy BUT not to worry, some of our favourites are also suitable for the younger ones in your party.
From flying over Pandora to taking a trip to Outer Space, here are our top 10 rides at Walt Disney World.
Expedition Everest - Disney's Animal Kingdom
It's not the tallest or the fastest roller coaster in all of Walt Disney World, but my god do we love Expedition Everest! From its storytelling, to twist, turns and several thrills, Expedition Everest is what you call a great roller coaster and is not one to miss out on.
Avatar: Flight of Passage - Disney's Animal Kingdom
We'd go as far as saying that Flight of Passage is Disney's best ride yet. There's a reason that the queue for this attraction is always SO long!
Nobody likes long wait times BUT we'd certainly make the exception for this ride. Yes it's THAT good. Even the theming of the queue has you feeling like you've just stepped in Pandora.
Everything about this attraction is unbelievable. It really has the WOW factor and left us speechless. Flight of Passage is magical, immersive, and just phenomenal and we will never not recommend this ride. The visuals are spectacular, the music gives you goosebumps (and that's not the aircon) and you actually feel like you are flying!
Once you step off that banshee, those 2 hours you just waited to ride this attraction suddenly feels like a distant memory.
Mission: Space - Epcot
If you've ever wondered what it would be like to travel into space, then Mission: Space is the ride to answer all of your unanswered questions! Something that we absolutely love about this ride is that there are two ride experiences of varying intensity to choose from. So if you suffer from motion sickness, then you can choose the green route for an experience with no spinning. For a more intense experience then be brave and go for the orange route. So whether you want a thrilling space travel adventure or a chill journey around the Earth, Mission: Space is one to add to your must-ride list. Just be aware the G-Force is strong and incredibly realistic on this ride!
Soarin' Around the World - Epcot
We’re soaring, flyingggg! No this isn’t a ride based on the iconic High School Musical, but instead based on travelling around the world.
On Soarin’ you can fly over some of the world’s most famous landmarks and even smell scents from the destinations included in this ride! You really do feel like you are flying on this ride and taking flight on Soarin’ is an adventure not to be missed.
Test Track - Epcot
This ride has us feeling like Lewis Hamilton on his final lap of the F1 Grand Prix!
If you’ve ever wanted to take a ride on a test track, then you HAVE to make this ride a top priority. We absolutely love the thrill of this ride and not only that, you get to design your own car! (which is great for those petrol heads out there).
Test Track is incredible and is unlike any attraction we’ve ever been on. Although be prepared for extremely windswept hair afterwards!
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance - Disney's Hollywood Studios
Star Wars fan or not. Rise of the Resistance is by far one of the best attractions we have ever had the pleasure of riding. Rise takes you to the distant planet of Batuu where you join the Resistance in an epic battle against the First Order.
Rise of the Resistance is more than just a ride, it’s an entire experience. It’s an 18-minute experience that feels more like you’re part of a movie rather than on a theme park attraction.
Rise of the Resistance also has THE best pre-show we have ever experienced and you really feel a part of the Star Wars movies.
Toy Story: Midway Mania - Disney's Hollywood Studios
Inspired by classic shooting gallery carnival games, Toy Story: Midway Mania is SO much fun and has got to be one of our favourites. We’re always finding ourselves drawn to this ride because it always brings out our competitive side.
Trust us when we say that you’re going to want to ride again and again to see if you can improve your score. Just try not to wear out your wrist in the process!
Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway - Disney's Hollywood Studios
Nothing can stop us nowwww! What’s not to love about this ride?! From dancing Daisy to Goofy driving your train, the trackless ride has the most incredible visual effects and is the perfect ride for all of the family to enjoy. There are also a few unexpected twists and turns too which makes it even more exciting! Oh and we guarantee that you will walk out singing - trust us!
Big Thunder Mountain - Magic Kingdom
We couldn’t write about our top 10 rides at Walt Disney World without including the wildest rides in the wildernesssss!
From the scenic views to the twists and turns, a trip to Walt Disney World would not be complete without riding Big Thunder Mountain at least a handful of times! No matter how many times we ride this ride, every time feels different and it is just so much FUN!
Splash Mountain - Magic Kingdom
One of the greatest things about Walt Disney World, and Disney in general is the amazing storytelling. The stories told throughout the attractions are what makes Disney World one of the best theme parks out there and Splash Mountain is one of those rides that really emphasis on storytelling.
Now with the Florida heat, a water ride is a want, need and must on any Walt Disney World trip. So if you’re in need of a cool down, head over to Splash Mountain! Most theme parks have water rides, but Splash Mountain hits different. With a combination of animatronics, storytelling AND the multiple drops, Splash Mountain is one of the best rides in Magic Kingdom and has got to be experienced at least once. Don’t worry if you end up getting soaked, you’ll dry off in no time!
Also, we’re so excited to see what the ride will be like once the attraction has been transformed with the new “Princess and the Frog” theming.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind - Epcot
Now we know that we've already listed our Top 10 attractions BUT we just had to give this attraction some attention. We haven't had the pleasure of riding this attraction just yet BUT we already know that it would make our Top 10 ride list just from what we have read about this attraction and we're so excited to become completely obsessed with this attraction on our next trip to Walt Disney World!
