Things to do over the Christmas period!

Things to do over the Christmas period!

As we all know Christmas 2020 is going to be a Christmas like no other.

With the uncertainty of not knowing what to do over the festive period with bars/restaurants and other hospitality venues closed and not being able to spend time with extended family and friends, we thought we’d put together a list of things to do to stay festive over the Christmas period.

  • Watch Christmas movies

Thanks to the likes of Netflix, Amazon Video and Disney + there’s enough old and new Christmas movies to keep us feeling festive over the Christmas period. There’s always lots of great movies on TV too!

  • Bake up some goodies

2020 has definitely been the year of baking for a lot of households. Remember the shortage of self raising flour??  Baking gingerbread and cookies are perfect for this time of year and make the perfect Christmas treat!

  • Compile your own Christmas playlist

Who doesn’t love a good Christmas playlist? Make sure to include a bit of Michael Buble and Justin Bieber!

  • Go and see some Reindeer

Say hello to Rudolph for us!

  • Play some board games

Who doesn’t love a bit of Monopoly over Christmas?

  • Build a Snowman

Of course we would need snow for that! But if we are lucky enough to get some snow over the Christmas holidays then be creative with your ideas. Remember you don’t always have to stick to the traditional snowman look!

  • Eat and drink all the festive themed treats

Delve into all the yummy food and drink. You can start back at the gym in 2021. New Year, New You right?

  • Watch the Queens speech

Gotta love Liz!

  • Go Ice Skating (permitted that we are allowed and Ice Rinks are open!)

  • Go for a Winter walk

Wrap up in your favourite winter coat, put your woolly hat on and go exploring! (If you’re from the UK make sure you wear LOTS of layers!)

  • Create a quiz

2020 has been the year of Zoom so why not host your own quiz for all the family to join in! And better yet - put on the ugliest Christmas jumper you can find!

  • Write a list of everything that you are grateful for

This year has been a strange one - so why not reflect on the very odd year and put together a list of everything that you’ve been grateful for.

  • Perfect your hot chocolate

Being in the midst of the Winter months it’s definitely the perfect time to get cosy and snuggle up in front of the fire. So why not get inventive with your hot drinks and maybe throw in some marshmallows and whipped cream!

  • Start a new tradition with family and friends
  • Create some Christmas cocktails
  • Go to your local Christmas market

Depending on your situation and if you’re in the UK - what tier you’re in, it’s always super festive to visit a Christmas market and drink some mulled wine or hot chocolate and browse all the different independent stalls.

  • Make mulled wine or cider

Nothing screams Christmas more than festive hot drinks!

  • Hide chocolate coins around the house
  • Here’s a fun one to do with the kids. Create your own treasure hunt - you never know this could keep the kids busy for longer than you think!

  • Christmas karaoke anyone?
  • Tell those closest to you that you love them
  •
