In need of some new movies to watch this festive season?
With the holiday season in full swing, it's time to see what the world of entertainment has to offer with its new releases!
One thing is for sure, there are plenty of movies (and tv series) to keep you entertained throughout the month of December.
December is looking like a very busy and exciting month (and not just because it's Christmas in just a few weeks!). When it comes to movie releases, it's looking like we will be seeing a bit of everything. From musicals to sci-fi and action, there are some interesting titles to check out as 2022 comes to an end.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
It has been two long years since the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman and our hearts haven't been the same since.
We knew that following the 2018 movie "Black Panther" would be no easy task but just from watching the movie trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever we knew that this sequel would be an incredible movie and tribute to Chadwick.
Without giving too much away, it's safe to say that King T'Challa's suit is resting in good hands with everyone involved.

Mickey: The Story of a Mouse
In celebration of Mickey's 94th birthday, a documentary about one of the world's most beloved icons has been released on Disney +.
Mickey: The Story of a Mouse gives fans an intriguing look at the century-long history of Mickey Mouse and uncovers questions and facts about Walt's and Mickey's past.
If you're a Disney super fan or grew up loving Mickey Mouse, then you will LOVE this documentary film. It really gives you a deep insight into the creation of Mickey Mouse and shows how Walt himself had many different versions of this origin story
Mickey: The Story of a Mouse is available to stream now on Disney+.
Disney's Strange World
We're always so excited when it comes to new material from Walt Disney Animation Studios' and the latest movie release from the studio is original action-adventure Strange World.
Strange World journeys deep into an uncharted and treacherous land where fantastical creatures await the legendary Clades, a family of explorers whose differences threaten to topple their latest and by far, most crucial mission.
Fans have already described this movie as stunning, adorable and the family adventure film of the year. Also, if you're a fan of Jake Gyllenhaal, then you'll be pleased to know that he is a part of the voice cast.
Disney's Strange World is out now in cinemas worldwide.
Disenchanted
We actually can't believe that it's been FIFTEEN years since we watched Giselle get her happily ever after. We suddenly feel old. Now, fifteen years later, we are reunited with Giselle and Robert and are treated to a SEQUEL. Disney just keeps treating us don't they?! Disenchanted adds a new chapter to the fairy tale and sees Giselle, Robert and Morgan move to a new community but then Andalasia and the real world are thrown off balance.
Disenchanted is available to stream exclusively on Disney +.
Bones and All
Bones and All is a romantic cannibal film. Yes, you read that right. Bones and All is a story of first love between Maren, a young woman learning how to survive on the margins of society, and Lee, an intense and disenfranchised drifter. The movie has been described as a liberating road odyssey of two young people coming into their own, searching for identity and chasing beauty in a perilous world that cannot abide who they are.
Bones and All is out now in cinemas.
Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical
Hands up if you loved Roald Dahl's Matilda growing up.
Christmas has come early for Roald Dahl fans and everyone's favourite childhood book character has returned to the big screen in a film adaptation of the West End hit, Matilda the Musical.
The multi-award winning musical from the Royal Shakespeare Company is out now at cinemas.
Blue's Big City Adventure
This one is for the little ones!

In case you didn't know, "Blue's Clues & You!" is an educational TV show for pre-schoolers about a friendly cartoon dog who helps solve mysteries. Now if you are a 90s kid, you may remember "Blues Clues", well this show is a modern revival!
Blue's Big City Adventure is eventually a feature length adaptation of "Blue's Clues & You!" in which Blue and her human companion, Josh travel from the colourful 2D Storybook World to the streets of real-life New York City.
Unfortunately, Blue's Big City Adventure is skipping the big screen entirely and is exclusively available to watch on Paramount +.

Spirited
You're probably thinking, Ryan Reynolds in a musical?! Yes, we thought the same thing but we are SO here for it! Spirited is a hilarious modern musical update of the classic Charles Dickens story about Ebenezer Scrooge and the all-singing, all-dancing festive film is one of this year's must watch Christmas movies.
Spirited is an Apple Original movie which is exclusive to Apple TV +, so unfortunately you will need an Apple TV + subscription to watch this movie, which costs £6.99 a month.
However, the musical comedy is showing in select UK cinemas so have a look at your local cinema to see if Spirited will be playing over the festive season.
Falling for Christmas
Christmas has come early with the return of Lindsay Lohan to our screens! In the days leading up to Christmas, a young, newly engaged heiress has a skiing accident. After she is diagnosed with amnesia, she finds herself in the care of a handsome cabin owner and his daughter.
If you love a cheesy Christmas movie then this definitely has to be at the top of our Christmas movie watchlist this year. You even get to witness something ICONIC in this movie, think Mean Girls and Christmas...
Falling for Christmas is available to stream now on Netflix.
Christmas With You
Here's another early Christmas treat to be excited about. Freddie Prinze Jr stars in this festive film which follows an international pop star as she struggles to come up with her next hit. Deciding to grant a young fan's Christmas wish to meet in her small town, she finds musical inspiration when she gets a shot at true love.
Violent Night
If you love Christmas but also love watching action movies, then this is the movie for you this festive season. You're probably thinking, an action movie featuring Santa? Yes we are just as confused as you are! This dark action comedy has Santa Claus coming to the rescue against a mercenary attack. Starring David Harbour as Santa Claus, Violent Night is out in cinemas from Friday 3rd December.
Avatar: The Way of Water
Can you believe that it's been 13 years since the release of Avatar?! No we can't quite believe it either! Now, after a thirteen year long wait, the long-awaited sequel is finally here! Who would've thought?! Avatar: The Way of Water will continue Jake Sully's story on the planet Pandora on a journey to protect the planet alongside the Na'vi race.
Avatar: The Way of Water is also the first of four sequels to Cameron's ground-breaking sci-fi movie.
Avatar: The Way of Water is out in cinemas worldwide from December 16th.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish
Who doesn't love Puss in Boots?! When we were first introduced to the beloved kitty in Shrek, we have loved him ever since! Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is the sequel to the 2011 animated movie and follows the journey of Puss in Boots (voiced by Antonio Banderas) as he sets out to find the mystical last wish to restore eight of the nine lives he has lost, while also escaping new enemies who plan on hunting him down.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is out in cinemas worldwide December 21st.

The Santa Clauses - Disney +
Scott Calvin is back! Can you believe it?! Tim Allen is returning as the iconic Scott Calvin aka Santa Claus in a new series called The Santa Clauses.
In this festive series, as Santa approaches his 65th birthday, he reflects back on his life and realises he may want to give up his sleigh once and for all and live a normal life.
There will be six episodes in total in The Santa Clauses series. The first two episodes aired on Disney + on the 16th November and the remaining episodes will be released on a weekly schedule, with new instalments set to air every Wednesday with the series final airing on the 14th December.
Willow - Disney +
Willow is an American fantasy adventure series that is based on and serving as a sequel to the 1988 movie also titled Willow.
National Treasure: Edge of History - Disney +
National Treasure: Edge of History starts streaming exclusively on Disney + on the 14th December.
Wednesday - Netflix
Addams Family rejoice! Following Wednesday Addams on her high school journey at the Nevermore Academy, this series sees the iconic teen take on the mystery that her parents couldn't solve, all while attempting to control her growing psychic abilities.
