New Movie Releases in May 2022

May has been a highly anticipated month for new movie releases. From the latest movie to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe to the long awaited Top Gun Sequel. Yes you read that right, a Top Gun SEQUEL.

As always, we want to keep you in the loop with all the new movie releases, so here is a list of a few movies that have been released this month!

Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness - 06/05

It's time to take a trip through the Multiverse. Six years after he originally debuted in the MCU, Benedict Cumberbatch is finally back with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The global phenomenon has finally made it to the big screen and we are OBSESSED. Everything about this movie is out of this world (quite literally). We love Steven Strange. We love Wanda. We love everything about this movie. If you are yet to watch Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness, get down to your local cinema to watch it on the big screen before it's too late! Trust us, you will not regret it.

See you on the other side of the multiverse!

Firestarter - 13/05

A girl with extraordinary pyrokinetic powers fights to protect her family and herself from sinister forces that seek to capture and control her. If you're a fan of Zac Efron then you're not going to want to miss out seeing him in action and playing the role of a dad? Yes please! Although this makes us feel very old.

Firestarter is based on the original Steven King book and a remake of the 1984 film.

Senior Year - 13/05

Now I don't know about you but when we see Rebel Wilson starring in a new movie, we just have to watch it! On May 13th, Senior Year dropped on Netflix with Rebel Wilson as the leading role. When a cheerleading stunt goes wrong, it lands Rebel's character in a 20-year coma. Now she's 37, newly awake and ready to live out her high school dream of becoming prom queen. What could possibly go wrong right?

Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers - 20/05

Our favourite chipmunk duo is here with a new movie but in a little different setting to how we last saw Chip and Dale.

Chip and Dale are living amongst cartoons and humans in modern-day Los Angeles, but their lives are quite different now. After going their separate ways after their successful television series was cancelled, Chip and Dale must repair their broken friendship and take on their Rescue Rangers detective personas once again to save their friends life.

Top Gun: Maverick - 25/05

After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy's top aviators, Pete Mitchell is back where he belongs. FINALLY. Fans of Top Gun have waited 36 years (yes thirty six) for this long-promised sequel to the 1986 classic and we can't quite believe that we are here to see the day that Top Gun finally has a sequel. From an incredible cast made up of young (and older) faces, to amazing aerial footage and in-camera stunts, we guarantee that this highly anticipated sequel will be the movie of 2002 for sure. Top Gun: Maverick is out now in cinemas worldwide.

The Bob's Burger Movie - 27/05

Today is the day to get this PATTY started. One of America's most popular animated comedies has hit the big screen. The Bob's Burgers movie is out! The Belcher family tries to save the restaurant from closing as a sinkhole forms in front of it, while the kids try to solve a mystery that could save their family's restaurant. If you love the television series then you are going to flip out at the movie.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: The Series - 27/05

Okaaay, so this is technically not a movie BUT we just had to include this limited series that is premiering exclusively on Disney + TODAY! We still can't believe that we're being treated to our very own Kenobi series. Honestly, what did we do to deserve this?

And just when you think that's it, there are SO many more new releases coming our way. We feel truly spoiled.

Here is a sneak peak of what we can expect to be hitting the big screen and streaming platforms next month:

Interceptor - 3rd June

Jurassic World: Dominion - 10th June

Lightyear - 17th June

Elvis - 24th June
