New year, new albums!

New year, new albums!

From pop and grime to alternative, K-pop and more, the choices for music fans can feel endless. And that's not even including vinyl and re-releases!

Artists like Megan Thee Stallion, Rihanna and Queen B have kept us guessing and bands like Years and Years and Bastille just keep on treating us!

From DJs to rock and country legends, 2022's music line up is already giving us the "new year, new me" energy we've been hoping for.

Here's a sneak peek of what music you can expect to hear in 2022!

The Weeknd - Dawn FM

What comes after After HoursThe Dawn obviously. Back in October 2021, The Weeknd said that his fifth studio album was practically finished and that it was inspired by artists ranging from Britney Spears to Nas. Fast forward to the new year and Dawn FM is out today! Tyler the Creator, Lil Wayne, and actor Jim Carrey are just some of the artists (and actors) that feature on the record.

Also released today is David Bowie's unreleased album Toy, just two decades after its original proposed release.

The Wombats - Fix Yourself, Not the World

Fix Yourself, Not the World is the fifth album from the trio and is the follow up to 2018's Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life. Fix Yourself, Not the World is set for release on 14th January 2022.

Years & Years - Night Call

Pop band, Years and Years have now transformed into a solo project featuring frontman Olly Alexander. Made up of killer dance tracks, Night Call is the act's third album set for release on January 21st.

Bastille - Give Me The Future

Described as a "cinematic sci-fi saga", Bastille's upcoming album, Give Me the Future will pay tribute to the tech age that humanity is currently experiencing and reflect on "the strangeness of living through times that can feel like science fiction". The track list for the album includes singles like "No Bad Days", "Distorted Light Beam", and "Thelma + Louise". The fourth studio album from the band is set for release on 4th February 2022.

Bastille will also be heading to play arenas in April 2022, with shows including London's The O2, Manchester AO arena and Birmingham's O2 Academy.

Dolly Parton - Run, Rose, Run

2022 is look like a busy year for Ms. Parton. Country legend, Dolly Parton is releasing her first novel called 'Run, Rose, Run.' The book is a collaboration with James Patterson about an aspiring musician AND on March 4th, 12 new original songs will be released under the same title. Dolly Parton has said that the tracks are based on its characters and situations. How exciting!

Charli XCX - Crash

Charli XCX fans are just a few weeks away from new music! On March 18th 2022, Charli XCX will be debuting her fifth album called Crash and features already released songs 'New Shapes' and 'Good Ones' as well as new tracks. As the fifth and final album of her record deal, fans can expect themes of death and even rebirth.

Craig David - 22

The superstar singer and DJ's upcoming album 22 is set for release on May 13th 2022. The title '22' is in honour of his debut album 'Born to Do It' turning 22 years old. Craig will also be going on his 'Hold That Thought' UK arena anniversary tour in April 2022.

Liam Gallagher - C'mon You Know

You know it's going to be a good year when Liam Gallagher is releasing a new album. Back in October of last year, former Oasis frontman tweeted that the album had been completed was being "sent off" to be mixed by Mark "Spike" Stent.

Liam’s third solo album follows rapidly on the heels of As You Were (2017) and Why Me? Why Not (2019). C’mon You Know is set for release on May  27th.

Khalid

Originally scheduled for release back in Autumn 2021, Khalid’s third studio album, Everything Is Changing seems to be taking longer than expected to arrive, but of course good things take time. On July 21st of last year, he dropped his first single from the album titled 'New Normal'. Now, the wait begins for the album release date to drop…

And finally, more music news...

Finally free of her conservatorship that ruled her life for 13 years, all eyes are on Britney Spears and what her next move will be. We really hope that she will release some new music this year!

There are also rumours that Beyoncé fans should look out for a new album this year too!

Guns N’ Roses fans are also in for a treat this year. Two major releases are on the cards from the band as well as the fourth solo album by Slash.

And finally, It’s only been three years we’ve been waiting for Megan Thee Stallion to surprise us with some new music and it’s looking like 2022 may just be our year. Following her Something For Thee Hotties mixtape released on October 29th, Stallion hinted that her new album isn’t far ahead. Summer 2022 maybe?

As the months go by, of course there will be even more new releases and even more teasers for what's to come, so keep an eye out on our blog for more music updates!
