Meet the Characters of Yellowstone!

Back in 2018, Paramount released the hit series Yellowstone, and ever since, fans have been captivated by drama surrounding the Dutton family and their historic cattle ranch.

The Paramount+ series was created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, and features a large number of regular and recurring characters within its epic story which unfolds over five seasons.

Yellowstone tells the story of the powerful Duttons, whose ambitions of protecting their ranching empire amongst the beautiful wilderness of Montana is not only threatened by greedy corporate giants & corrupt politicians, but also by the shifting allegiances within their own ruthless family.

From its gripping blend of family dynamics, thrilling drama and the rugged ranch life, the popular western drama is home to a cast full of incredible actors. So far we have laughed, cried, and yee-haw’ed along the way. From Kevin Costner to Kelly Reilly, the characters who bring the Dutton family to life are a talented bunch and we’ve rounded them up with a lasso just for you!

Kevin Costner - "John Dutton" 

John Dutton is the patriarch of the powerful Dutton Family that controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United State, under constant conflict by those it borders - land developers, an Indian reservation, and America's first National Park. Dutton, a sixth-generation rancher and devoted father, is immersed in a corrupt world where politicians are bought and sold by the world's largest oil and lumber corporations and land grabs make developers billions. 

Wes Bentley - "Jamie Dutton"

A polished lawyer considering a career in politics, Jamie's desperate need for his father's approval pushed him to greatness - but it may also push him over the edge.

Cole Hauser - "Rip Wheeler" 

A tough and merciless wrangler from Yellowstone Ranch, Rip has dedicated his life to serving the Duttons and will stop at nothing to get the job done, even when his life is on the line.

Kelly Reilly - "Beth Dutton"

Beth is the efficacious daughter of a rancher, thrown suddenly into matriarchy after the death of her mother and tasked with the impossible - holding together a family of broken men as they attempt to surmount impossible odds. Given the moniker "Hatchet Man," by those who know her, Beth is unrelenting in her duties, even when war is waging all around - and often within her.

Luke Grimes - "Kayce Dutton"

Pushed away by his father and an outsider to the family he's married into, Kayce Dutton walks a constant tightrope, but never very gracefully. As his two families set out to destroy one another, every emotion billows through Kayce's eyes, revealing secrets as they rip through him, threatening to tear him apart.

Gil Birmingham - "Thomas Rainwater"

Raised by adoptive parents, unaware of his Native American heritage, Rainwater is now a steely, proud and tough negotiator, innovative and practical in the extreme, determined to change policy, all while making a ton of money from the casino he runs.

Kelsey Asbille - "Monica Long" 

Monica knew that the man she loved would never be seen as more than the enemy by her people, but she never expected a Shakespearean war between the sides to threaten everything and everyone she holds dear. At her core, Monica is simply a young mother, forced to question all she knows, learning along the way how far she's willing to go to protect those close to her.

Dave Annable - "Lee Dutton"

Heir apparent to the family business, Lee Dutton has spent his entire life working the Yellowstone ranch with his father. The only Dutton child to stick it out at home, he's got the experience and the know-how to continue the Dutton Family legacy.
