2022 has already shaped up to be a special year for Disneyland Paris as they celebrate their 30th anniversary and now the celebrations continue with the opening of the new land.
As part of the expansion to Walt Disney Studios Park, the Marvel Avengers Campus is the first-ever Marvel themed universe in Europe. The new land will feature action-packed attractions and even surprise appearances from some of our favourite superheroes!
You'll get the chance to feel like a real life superhero and be amongst some of the greats.
Iron Man - we love you 3000!
From the themed architecture and restaurants to live action stunts and character meet and greets, we're so excited to see the transformation of the area and what it will do for Disneyland Paris as a whole.
Here is everything you need to know about the new Avengers Campus opening in Disneyland Paris.
Attractions
There are two new Marvel-themed attractions in the Avengers Campus; Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure and Avengers Assemble: Flight Force.
Avengers Assemble: Flight Force
Embark on an adventure like never before! As you step foot into a whole new universe, you can help the likes of Iron Man and Captain Marvel save the world from an intergalactic threat.
If you have visited Disneyland Paris before then you would've been familiar with the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith in the Walt Disney Studios Park. Well think of that ride but with Avengers theming.
Avengers Assemble: Flight Force is a reimagined version of the original Rock and Roller coaster that originally opened at Disneyland Paris in 2002.
The new ride takes you on a 'high-speed mission' (57mph in 0.2 seconds) to be exact.
I'm sure that if you are an avid Disneyland Paris visitor, then you will agree with us when we say that Rock 'n' Roller Coaster was one of the best rollercoasters at Disneyland Paris, so the new update is sure to be epic!
Height requirement to ride Avengers Assemble: Flight Force is 120cm (47 inches), so make sure you check the height of anyone who may want to ride this attraction.
Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure
Opposite PYM Kitchen you will find Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure.
On this 3D action attraction, recruits of all ages are given web-slinging superpowers accomplished through innovative technology that was created specifically for this ride. You will hop onboard a WEB Slinger Vehicle where you will shoot webs towards the Spider-Bots and help Spider-Man save the day.
From what we have read about this ride, prepare to have your mind blown!
The innovative technology that was created for this ride recognises body movements and gestures, meaning guests can sling webs from their own wrists, just like Spider-Man! You can even buy web-shooters that can help enhance the experience of the attraction.
Guests are able to interact with this ride with just 3D glasses! And even better, Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure has no height restriction, meaning even the smallest Spidey fans can play!
This ride is most definitely going to become one of the most popular rides at Disneyland Paris.
It's sure to be Marvel-ous!
Hero Training Center
Learn some of the infamous Avengers moves and meet your favourite superheroes! You can even pose for selfies or take part in some cool, interactive pictures using the Disney PhotoPass service. For the first time in any Disney Park, a dynamic "freeze" frame video sequence has been created that uses 27 cameras to capture the action from every angle.
The Hero Training Center will be the main location to meet all your favourite Marvel characters. So get your poses ready and be on the lookout for the likes of Iron Man, Black Widow, Spider-Man, Captain America, Black Panther, Thor, Captain Marvel and more!
If you are a huge Guardians of the Galaxy fan then you're also in luck...
You may want to start practising your best dance moves as you can take part in an interactive dance-off with Star Lord and Gamora! You can find Star-Lord at the Gateway Portal (otherwise known as the entrance to the Avengers Campus). This is also a prime location to meet and greet one or more of the many superheroes at Avengers Campus throughout the day too.
Live Action Heroes United Stunt Show
Now this is one thing you will have to keep your eye out for throughout your visit to Avengers Campus. From the ground to the roof tops, surprise live-action stunts will be taking place randomly throughout the day involving Marvel characters such as; Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Black Widow, Thor AND Loki. Disneyland Paris will also introduce Captain America, Ant-Man and The Wasp, Okoye and the Dora Milaje from Wakanda for the first time.
With this amount of superheroes around the campus, it’s nice to know we’re in safe hands during our visit!
As you stroll around the new land, make sure you make way for a sleek new high-tech Avengers vehicle that is set to roam around the campus throughout the day dispatching the heroes in style.
Food
Now we all know how important it is to try the food at Disney, it’s all part of the experience after all! With the opening of a new land comes new food offerings that we’re so excited to try.
When you’ve been fighting alongside your favourite superheroes, you will get hungry at some point. With a new land comes new dining locations and in the Avengers Campus there are a few to choose from.
You’ve got quick service, buffet style AND even other eateries throughout the land.
PYM Kitchen
Ever wanted to see your food unusually sized? Well, you’re going to want to visit PYM Kitchen. PYM Kitchen is an Ant-Man and the Wasp themed restaurant that serves a fixed-price, buffet menu. The restaurant is themed as an experimental lab and the buffet serves unusually - sized mains and snacks. Scientist chefs use Ant-Man and The Wasp’s PYM particle technology to shrink and grow ingredients, creating a fun and creative dining experience.
If this sounds like something you want to experience, reservations are required so book as early as possible via the app to avoid disappointment.
Adult buffet €42, child buffet €30. Drinks not included.
Stark Factory
If you’re looking for a quick service option then Stark Factory is the place. Stark Factory is a canteen style food court serving fast food options such as pasta, pizza and salads. The restaurant is a high-tech workspace and quick-service kitchen where Super Heroes come to build and repair their gear.
There is also a cooking show experience at the location that is performed at dedicated times throughout the day.
Food prices at Avengers Campus range from €14 for a large pizza, €7 for a kids pizza and €8.50 for a salad bowl. The signature dessert will be inspired by the God of Thunder, Thor.
Stark Factory can be found all the way in the back of the land, opposite Avengers Assemble: Flight Force.
Over the course of the next few months there will be even more food options to choose from as more food outlets are set to open! Including The WEB (Worldwide Eating Brigade), a food truck that serves Asian noodles and coconut balls. The FAN-tastic Food Truck that serves classic New York style hot dogs (vegan options available) and cheesecake on sticks for dessert. Later on this year there will also be an American eatery opening called Super Diner which will serve classic Yankee grub like Reuben sandwiches, burgers and pancakes.
If it’s sweet treats that you are after on your trip, keep an eye out for the Groot cookie!
Shopping
Mission Equipment
Now there is shopping and then there's shopping in Disney. If you leave a Disney park without a souvenir of some kind, then you are the real superhero here. We can’t go to Disneyland without having to buy something, so now we have a new shop to discover!
The Mission Equipment store has some marvel-ous gifts, keepsakes and collectables to add to your Marvel collection. They even have Spider bots! Now that’s not something you can buy everyday…
From clothing to pins, we are onboard to spend a lot of time (and money) in this store. AND there is also a lot of Groot merchandise which we can totally get on board with.
And just when you think that’s it.. There’s one last thing.
After a long day fighting villains and learning from the best of the best, you’re going to need a place to stay. And what better place to stay than at the Hotel New York - the Art of Marvel?!
With 471 Superior rooms, 65 empire state club rooms, and 25 suites dedicated to Spider-Man, and the Avengers, this hotel offers a Manhattan-style stay that is marvel-ous for any Marvel super fan and perfect to celebrate all things Marvel.
The theming for this hotel is out of this world and if you can’t afford to stay in this hotel (as it’s very pricey!), it’s most definitely worth a visit. You can even admire 350 pieces of artwork and discover the two restaurants and bars, the best being the Skyline Bar. At the Skyline Bar, ‘real time’ footage is played on huge screens that give the effect of looking out over New York. From time to time, you may spot some of the heroes swinging into action through the ‘window’.
From heroic encounters to live-action stunts and attractions, the arrival of Avengers Campus and the new Art of Marvel hotel is gearing up Disneyland Paris to be the ultimate destination for Marvel fans.
AND don’t worry you don’t have to pay extra to visit the new Avengers Campus!
If you purchase two-park tickets for Disneyland Paris then no separate ticket is needed for the new Marvel land. As the new Avengers Campus is part of the existing Walt Disney Studios Park,
